Local “rappers/musicians/producers/smart alecs” P.D.A. and Kawnar made a Beatles mixtape. The concept behind “A Hard Week’s Night” – create a Beatles mixtape in one week. Since they are friends, I elbowed my way into shooting the album art. Obviously (for Beatles fans) the cover is a recreation of the “A Hard Day’s Night” cover.
We couldn’t do shots with both P.D.A. and Kawnar at the same time – there was only one acceptable wig. The other one made P.D.A. look like T-Boz of girl group TLC. Since we were in studio, we decided to have a little fun. I had the idea that Kawnar could be the puppet master of P.D.A. and vice versa. Each of these 4 shots were made separately and then composited together.
Kawnar videoed the recording process, and produced episodes to promote the album leading up the release. You can watch the episodes on Jennifer Chancellor’s blog
Incidentally, the mixtape is FREE. Commence with the downloading at www.ahardweeksnight.com
