Back in November, I got the chance to shoot Oklahoma band HINDER for a feature article in Distinctly Oklahoma magazine. Read the article by Gary Hizer here.
We needed both portraits, and live shots for the article. I had locations scouted and lighting planned, but it became clear our window of opportunity would be short, we had to stay on site at Cain’s Ballroom. I wonder how many band portraits have been made in Cain’s green room. Probably a LOT.

We worked fast, and banged out two or three setups in the darkness of the back lot. I’ve been known to work fast, but this was probably a record. They were so natural in front of the camera, it made my job easy. And they were totally nice, down to earth guys.
The band has a great energetic stage presence, again making my job easy. The live shots were given the royal treatment by the designers at Distinctly Oklahoma. They used several shots with lots of page presence = very cool! They look so much better printed than on screen.
