I was first turned on to Ghostland Observatory at this year’s Dfest show. They play minimalist electro dance music with an Eighties flair. This isn’t normally my flavor of music, but this duo puts on an INCREDIBLE show. Vocalist Aaron Behrens knows how to work the crowd into a frenzy with his endless energy. And though reserved on stage, the musical genius of Thomas Turner is the backbone of the band.

Adding to the maniacal stage presence is the best laser light show this side of a Pink Floyd tribute. I go to lots of shows, but rarely do you see a crowd this enraptured. You just can’t comprehend the vibe of this band through their recorded material. You have to be there.
